OLY’s Mandatory Fundraising Program
Grocery or SCRIP
The
best way to keep fees down as pool costs rise is to do fundraising. OLY
has one of the easiest programs for this and it keeps getting easier. You now
can do grocery/SCRIP together.
The program is designed to earn at least $75 per family for
OLY from April 1st – March 31st.
If you wish, you may opt-out of the grocery/SCRIP program, and pay $75.00 at
the beginning of the Long Course season. If you choose to opt-out, please
include your $75.00 fundraising payment with your registration fees.
For
grocery you need to spend $1500 at Kroger or Busch's from April 1st – March 31st. (it
is a .05% rebate at Kroger and Busch's)
For SCRIP you need to reach $75
in rebate percentage between April 1st and March 31st.
OR you may combine these programs to reach the $75.
Member families are responsible for the following:
Current (year-round) OLY swimmers - $1500 ($75 fundraising to OLY)
NEW families registering after 4/30 but by the beginning of short course
season - $1000 through March 31st ($50 fundraising to OLY) then $1500 per
year thereafter.
NEW families registering after the beginning of short course season but
before 11/1 - $500 through March 31st ($25 fundraising to OLY) then $1500
per year thereafter.
NEW families registering after 11/2 for the remainder of short course - $0
through March 31st then $1500 per year thereafter.
Once you have met your
commitment, you will begin earning refunds. OLY will keep half and you
will receive half of anything earned over the $75. These refunds will be in the form of checks issued once per year (at the end of
short course season). Examples are at the bottom of this page.
If you do not reach the $75 commitment you will be billed $.05 per dollar not
earned after March 31st.

Kroger
– You initially buy a Kroger card from the OLY grocery
representative (through the SCRIP ordering page) for $5 (which contains a $5.00
balance). At Kroger Customer Service or at the register BEFORE you check
out you put money on your card. Once you have put $1500 on your card (as
reported monthly by Kroger) you will begin to earn half of the rebate from any other money put on the card. If you
have a Kroger card already from OLY, just continue to use that card. You
do not need a new card each year. Kroger cards must be filled by late
March of each year (around the 20th). The refund check will be issued once per year at the end of short course season.
Busch's
– You initially buy a Busch's card from the OLY grocery
representative (through the SCRIP ordering page) for $5 (which contains a $5.00
balance). At Busch's Customer Service or at the register you put money on your card. Once you have put $1500 on your card (as
reported monthly by Busch's) you will begin to earn half of the rebate from any
other money put on the card. If you have a Busch's card already from OLY,
just continue to use that card. You do not need a new card each year.
The refund check will be issued once per year at the end of short course season
SCRIP
- The first $75 you earn in SCRIP annually goes
to OLY, after that 50% goes to OLY, 50% to you.
FAQ’s
Deadlines - Order
online at
www.shopwithscrip.com, when the order comes in you will pay Dawn and she
will give you your SCRIP order. Be sure your order is in by midnight on
the deadline date on the OLY website. There will be reminders in the OLY
newsletter.
Payment- Please
make all checks payable to OLY.
Receiving the cards -
It is your responsibility to pick up your cards. No
cards will be sent home with swimmers unless you request it. Grocery cards must
be paid for when you receive them. Once they are given to a swimmer they are no
longer OLY’s responsibility. You will be notified when they are in and
available for pick up.
How long are the
cards good for -
The Kroger cards are
good forever, however they have told us that if you carry a zero balance longer
than 3 months they may expire. If this happens to you before you buy a new card
double check with Kroger to make sure it has expired before you buy a new one.
In the more than 3 years we have used this program this hasn't happened to
anyone. Be careful to not put them by other credit cards with magnetic strips or
they may demagnetize. If you are having a problem with your card, please
contact the grocery representative.
The Busch's cards are good forever.
For SCRIP each retailer has different
restrictions and expiration dates. Please review the list of retailers on the
Great Lakes SCRIP site to see what restrictions might apply to those you wish to
purchase gift certificates from. Most retailers do not allow you to apply gift
certificates to credit cards for payment, however, JC Penney and Kohl's
do allow you to
do just that. Again, please refer to the retailer list.
How can I increase my earnings - Buy Kroger cards for
family members or friends, which are good at Kroger and their affiliate stores.
They will fill the cards at their Kroger, but their card number will be
registered under your name and you will receive the credit. Buy Busch's
cards for family and friends.
Ask friends and relatives to order from SCRIP. Just
make sure to give Dawn their names so you get the credit. You will need to have
their payment when you pick up the order.
Ask them to
help support your swimmer by buying gift cards/certificates. Especially around
the holidays, graduation, etc…
Graduating Seniors/College -
When your senior graduates after short course you are no longer required to
participate in the grocery/SCRIP program. If you choose to participate we
appreciate your contribution to OLY.
Swimmers not swimming SUMMER
–
The program is designed to be a year-round program. If your swimmer takes the
summer session off, your annual commitment remains the same and we appreciate
your participation.
Swimmers missing a season (SC or
LC) - If
your swimmer does not swim a season, please continue to participate if you plan
to return to the team for the following season. Any amount earned will be
applied towards your annual commitment. If your swimmer does not come back for
the next season (2 in a row) you will not receive a refund, but we appreciate
any contribution made to OLY through this program.
Swimmers leaving OLY during a
season (SC or LC) - If your swimmer leaves OLY during a season you will not receive a
refund.
Please contact the Grocery/SCRIP representative if you have any questions -

There are at least 25 more weeks before the March 31st deadline = $2,500, you
get half of the rebate so a $62.50 check will be issued to you at the end of the short course
season.
If you only use SCRIP-
In your first SCRIP order you buy -
