Upcoming Championship Meets
We know parents have questions about Championship meets coming up and we
hope this will help. When the meet information becomes available
there will be a list posted on the website of who qualifies for the meets.
But, if you would like to look ahead and see where your swimmer stands now
and what times they need to reach in the early meets, this should help. If you still
have questions, please check with your swimmer's coach.
Districts -
- Go to the OLY website at
www.olyswim.com and click the drop down menu for Times and Records,
click Michigan District.
- If your swimmer's times are slower than the times listed they should
sign up for this meet.
- If you are unsure of their times you can click under times and records,
best times, short course and then either male or female to find their
times.
- If some of their times are slower, they may sign up for this meet to try
to get faster times. They will only be able to swim events at this meet
if they have slower times than those listed on the website.
If they have slower and faster times they can swim this meet and either
Junior Olympics or States depending on their times.
- The coaches will sign them up for the events they qualify for at this
meet as long as you sign them up to show interest in going to the meet.
Junior Olympics -
- Go to the OLY website at
www.olyswim.com and click the drop down menu for Times and Records,
click Michigan Junior Olympic. This one is a little more confusing.
- You need to check your swimmer's times (If you are unsure of their times
you can click under times and records, best times, short course and then
either male or female to find their times) and they need to fit between
the faster than time and the slower than times listed.
- Example: A swimmer's best time in the 50 Free is 33.98. For
Junior Olympic/ 10 and under girls you have to be faster than 34.19, but
slower than 31.69 so Alex would qualify for this event at Junior
Olympics.
- Again, the coaches will sign them up for the events they qualify for at this meet as long as you sign them up to show interest in going to the meet.
12 and Under State Meet-
- All swimmers that have a state time are expected to swim at this meet. There is no sign up. The coaches will put all qualifiers in their events.
- Go to the OLY website at
www.olyswim.com and click the drop down menu for Times and Records,
click Michigan 12 and Under States. - For this meet your swimmer has
to be faster than the SCY time listed or faster from long course if it was
this year, LCM. If you have a question on this, please ask your coach.
- It is possible to swim a meet like Junior Olympics and qualify for this
meet. If your swimmer does that you need to sign up for the State meet at
the Junior Olympic meet (if it is set up the same this year as the past
two years).
13 and over State Meet
- All swimmers that have a state time are expected to swim at this
meet. There is no sign up. The coaches will put all qualifiers
in their events.
- Go to the OLY website at
www.olyswim.com and click the drop down
menu for Times and Records, click Michigan 13 and Over States.
- For this meet your swimmer has to be faster than the SCY time listed
or faster from long course if it was this year, LCM. If you have a
question on this, please ask your coach.
- It is possible to swim a meet like Junior Olympics and qualify for
this meet. If your swimmer does that you need to sign up for the State
meet at the Junior Olympic meet (if it is set up the same this year as
the past two years).
It is possible to swim Districts, Junior Olympics and States depending on
your swimmer's times. The coaches also sometimes ask some swimmer's to
attend a state meet to be part of a relay only. The coaches will notify
the swimmers if that is the case.
Please utilize the OLY website to find your swimmer's times and then
determine which meets they should sign up for. If you have questions,
please ask your coach.
